The Helping Cub Foundation was founded in May 2020, by Tashawna Yosa. Inspired at 16 years by his school St. George's College, he decided to start The Foundation. With the belief that teenagers can also make a difference in society through dedication, purpose & leadership.
The young philanthropist invited a couple of teenagers he thought would love the cause. In less than 9 months, The Foundation had over 60 members inspired by each other to take action. The first Board of Directors (10) was announced on the 17th of October 2020.
The Foundation works to help all people lead healthy, confident lives. In Harare, Zimbabwe, it focuses on improving people’s health and giving them the chance to lift themselves out of hunger and extreme poverty. In small communities, it seeks to ensure that all people are united—have access to the opportunities they need to succeed in school and life.
Although, as a Team, we arrange various charity campaigns that are in line with our goals. We also value partnering with different organizations & firms that are also working towards our common goal.
Proudly from Zimbabwe, THC Foundation believes in "Destroying boundaries and creating a bridge between the disabled, underprivileged & the society."
Our missions are the outcomes that help us achieve our vision of seeing a world where people are united and interact with each other to help solve world problems:
Ensure more children and young people survive and thrive.
Empower the homeless and abandoned, to transform their lives.
Combat social boundaries & divisions.
Creating a bridge between the Disabled, Underprivileged & Society.
Inspire teenagers to take action to change the world.

I joined The Helping Cub because this, to me, is away for us to start saving our nation. We are Cubs; young and energetic. And we have a mission... to help... in the best way we know-how. I have been raised to love and care for my family which is why I believe in order to make the world a better place you have to start by looking at your own home. Raised in a household that emphasised service over self throughout her adolescence, Tanyar joined The Helping Cub Foundation because she wanted to be involved in projects that make a bigger impact on our community as part of a family of her peers. Throughout her high school life, she has aspired and devoted herself to assisting and lending a helping hand to her colleagues and teachers across all her spheres. Tanyar always tries to provide a sense of reason and alternative mindset to ideas and plans to help create a fully practical and prosperous project overall. From a young age, she has always set the goal to study medicine in the future and truly devote her life to giving back to the less fortunate by becoming a Doctor Without Borders. Currently an upper six at Arundel School.
‘…faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.’ 1 st Corinthians 13 vs 13. This verse is not only a part of the Chisipite School Reading, but a verse I aim to live by and emulate. I believe that by being a member of the Foundation, I can manifest this love through helping people. As an accomplished member of several speaking societies, including the Debate Society, Chisipite Current Affairs Society and Model United Nations, I have the confidence and eloquence to speak to a multitude of people and create bonds and relationships that can create an impact on people’s lives and in the Foundation. Though I am 18 years old and quite young, I aspire to channel my energy and voice into positive projects that benefit our community in any way I can, and there’s no better time like now! Currently learning at Chisipite Senior School.
I am an eighteen-year-old female, who is currently studying her A levels at Christ Ministries . I am very honoured to be part of THC as an ambassador, as I will get a platform to spread affection and benevolence in this world that so urgently needs it. I was able to see the world in a different light through the LEO club at my former school and since then, the fire in me, to help others, has never burnt out. I love how THC allows people of different milieus to interact and gives everyone a chance, as I believe that help can come from anyone regardless of who they are.
I believe there is a lot of work to be done to bridge the social gaps in Zimbabwe from the underprivileged to the disabled, this is something that I’ve always wanted to be a part of. I joined THC to be part of the change that I want to see, to build long-lasting relationships with these people and also to inspire more people my age to do the same. Having have been a committee member of the MCC social welfare club I have seen that there are people out there full of love, joy and potential, that needs to be shared with the world. The work will never truly be finished but it’s our duty to do what we can. I am 17 and currently learning at Chisipite Senior School.
My personal mantra is 'Leave no man behind'. It is my dream to make a significant impact in the lives of those facing adversity and to assist them in accessing more life-changing opportunities like the ones I have graciously been given. Billy Graham once said, "God gave us two hands, one to receive with and one to give with." In that regard, I would like to give just as I have been given.
I’m a very kind and loving person. I love children and was raised to always care for others and give back to the less fortunate. I’m a bit of an introvert, but I’m also very confident and try to make a big impact on other people’s lives. Since primary school, I have been to a number of different schools and interacted with people, of different backgrounds. I’m able to interact with different people without being judgmental and would be a safe space for them. Being in the Foundation will help me connect with more people and it will be an outlet for me to be able to help and offer my service to those who need it.
